Ford Motor Company suffered another setback in its effort to defend the Explorer sport-utility vehicle. On February 8, 2005, the California Superior Court in Sacramento certified a class-action lawsuit pending against Ford, charging that it knew of a rollover defect in its Explorer SUVs that it concealed from consumers. The class certified by the court generally includes persons who purchased or leased Ford Explorers in California during the period from 1990 through August 2000. According to evidence presented to the court, Ford sold over 440,000 Explorers in California during that time period. It was in August 2000 that Firestone initiated a recall of tires used on the Ford Explorer because of the large number of fatalities that occurred when Explorers rolled over after the tread separated from their tires. The plaintiffs allege that further investigation revealed that Ford had suggested underinflating the tires to conceal the Explorer's rollover problems. In deciding to certify the class, the court found that it is extremely important to avoid inconsistent decisions where a course of conduct by one defendant affecting hundreds of thousands of plaintiffs is at issue. Accordingly, the court ruled that determining all of the claims in one forum will result in a uniform decision applicable to members of the class and that substantial benefits will accrue to both the litigants and the court from this process. The court directed the parties to propose a form of notice that would be sent to potential class members notifying them of the court's decision. The case is entitled In Re Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Cases I & II, Judicial Counsel Coordinated Proceedings, NOS. 4266 and 4270, pending in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento. Ford's internal documents indicate that Ford ignored its engineers' advice that the Explorer SUV needed design revisions to prevent rollover accidents and fatal injuries, according to a Bloomberg news article of February 2, 2005. In 2004, Ford lost 2 Explorer rollover cases at trial, including a verdict in San Diego of $150 million, after reduction by the trial judge, and a $5.3 million verdict in Fort Myers, Florida. In addition to the California class action case, there are about two dozen trials claiming defects in Explorers that are set to take place this year. About Green WellingAlong with co-counsel, Green Welling LLP represents the named plaintiff in the lead action of the California Ford Explorer cases.
Formula One Racing is, quite simply, the paramount of karting. It is the professional form of the sport in its entirety. Formula One is an international phenomenon, a media conglomerate that rakes in millions and millions of dollars a year from advertising, sponsorship, and broadcast revenues. Professional drivers with millionaire bank accounts race these majestic kart marvels that are unprecedented, flush with technological luxuries ? everything from hard to produce lightweight frames that glide the machine to tires with unsurpassed grooving style that exemplify powerful movement on the circuit. There is no sport that bests epitomizes the term "global sport" like Formula One racing. Many countries serve as active participants in shaping the professional karting scene ? for example, Malaysia is a hot spot for racing (Fernando Alonso, a Spanish-born driver under Team Renault recently won a race there) and Italy plays a vital role in designing and manufacturing first class, top-of-the-line karts. Drivers and racing personalities hail from all parts of the word ? you have the charismatic and popular Italian Renault boss Flavio Briatore, the handsome young 23 year old racing prodigy in Fernando Alonso who stars in a Renault Megane commercial with his pet pig, and one of the highest earning sports figures in world history in Michael Schumacher. Rivalries are common in Formula One ? adding the edge of excitement with every zip of the curve and nitrous boost of the machine. In order to better become acquainted with Formula One racing, we must understand its organization. Karting goes way beyond pitting 3 2-cycle engine machines against each other on an oval circuit. Formula One is divided into drivers & their respective teams. Under such trademark car companies like Renault, Ferrari, and Toyota ? each driver has an assembling cast of staffers consisting of mechanics, engineers, and designers all working towards one goal: to make that speedster faster using all the resources at their disposal. Headed by team bosses that are adept at creating sponsorship opportunities and assembling the best cast for each team, Formula One employs the finest specialists in the business with backgrounds in computer and automobile ? even specialists with aerospace experience! High end, (rare technology reserved for space projects) in some instances, create the fastest and most efficient car possible. According to FI rules, racing teams must design, construct, and built their own karts from scratch. The staff is the pride of each individual team ? capable and able to win every 57 lap enduro race from Malaysia to Great Britain.Formula One cars can be summed up in two words: technological marvels. These sleek, low riding gems ripping through laps at speeds topping 200 mph. consist of more than just a chassis, an engine, and four wheels. For starters, the engine is located behind the cockpit as opposed to standard automobiles. They consist of 10 cylinder engines that produce heat which propel the kart forward. Team engineers are always looking into ways to make their engines more powerful. Currently, 1000 bhp (a scale for horsepower) has not been topped ? it is up to the teams to produce an engine which would fare well supporting speed as well as support the chassis. And as we know, there is a snug open cockpit for Jarno Trulli to maneuver his machine in.Construction of Formula One race cars is unprecedented. The first rule of thumb in designing a bonafide piece of framework is to make it weigh as least as possible. Less kart weight correlates to faster speeds. For this reason, team brains use lightweight material that is hard to construct. The minimum weight of a kart must be 600 kg including the driver. This ensures a level playing field, although teams are allowed to keep their money making construction methods a secret from other teams. Team staff is very highly regarded in the Formula One business. Their technological and dynamical know-how of the machines they build is a valuable asset to any team. And like free agents, they are lured and signed by the likes of companies creating a recruiting war for their services. Of course, there are restrictions for creating karts. You cannot add nitro boosts to your machine or use technology that resembles life in the year 3000. Teams are always looking to bend the rules slightly and coming up ways to beat the competition legally.Professional kart tires have to have optimum characteristics to ensure smooth driving. For one, tires have to have grooving technology built into them. For the novices, grooves are indented lines in tires that allow for it to slow down considerably on turns and to adapt to the track surface. No matter what the technology, kart tires are simply not adept at withstanding the rigors of asphalt, concrete, and dirt. For this reason, Formula One racers are allotted two pit stops during the course of a 57 lap race to change tires. If you've ever watched a Formula One race, team staffers with lightning quick hands have an extremely limited time for which to remove and replace tires in the pit stop ? often times not exceeding over 7 seconds! Regulations are placed on tire grooves (a minimum of four) to allow for an even playing field for all racers. Remember enthusiasts, grooves serve more to slow down the kart than to speed it up. Chassis construction with its illustrious carbon fiber material, tires with indented grooves, team specialists with a knack for speed, and engines which burn heat like calories is the epitome of a Formula One race car. All of these attributes contribute to the performance of the vehicle in racing lap after lap. As a result of all this technology, Formula One cars leave people breathless reaching consistent speeds of 200 mph. on the race track. More impressive is the time needed to go from 0 mph to 100 mph ? 5 seconds! Formula One is only moving forward with the advent of new features - like improved horsepower engines, more lightweight materials, new ballasts to add weight to the car, and more. Behind that stylish, mind blowing chassis that pique our interest is that top-class technology that makes Formula One racing so great..

Just as they did in August, supermoto racers from across the Midwest arrived in record numbers to compete at Springfield's excellent Mid State Kart Club race course. They found a freshened track, with a bigger, faster motocross style jump, and an extended dirt section with a newly added dirt turn. The soft earth of the new segment created some chaos in the morning's first practice by adhering to riders' cold tires. At one point, course marshals in a subsequent corner were inundated with crashes, frantically waving yellow flags, righting bikes, and attending to riders. Despite the pandemonium, there was little damage, and no serious injuries. By the second practice session, the dirt section had been "seasoned", and the riders were much more aware of what the course and their tires would and wouldn't allow. The day's racing action began with the 450 class. GNC rising star Rob "Bugs" Pearson, riding an Innovative Technologies Honda CRF450, leapt to an early lead from the pole position, and held it for the duration of the contest. Behind Bugs, a four-way battle for second place raged for ten nail-biting laps. Wisconsin motocrosser Robert Loire led the brawl for a lap before being passed by Iowan Danny Stookesberry on his RJ Performance Yamaha YZ450F. Loire, young pro flat tracker Clayton Riggle, and AMA flat track Horizon award contender Aaron King ran in a tight knot on Stooksberry's rear tire. The deadlock broke when Riggle bobbled and King put his KTM 450 into fourth place on lap six. King, who suffered some abrasions and a gash to his right hand over the course of the morning practice sessions, continued his attack, passing Loire on lap seven, and Stookesberry on lap nine to finish second. Stookesberry held off Loire and Riggle to earn third place. The Open Class final was a much more orderly affair, with Bugs Pearson leading from start to finish, followed by Cole Walsdorf, the 2004 Superbikers2 Open Premier series runner-up. Cole put in an excellent performance on the Promotorsports/Walsdorf Roofing/CHM Exhaust KTM. Aaron King, who started from the back row after crashing in the heat race, quickly knifed his way up to third place, picking off three riders on the first lap, and two more on the second. Pearson, Walsdorf and King finished the remaining 13 laps in that order. In the Sport Moto class, Terry Vestal put on a sliding clinic, pitching his stock wheeled KTM 525 into the asphalt corners with crwod pleasing dirt track style. Vestal, with backing from Redline Cycle and Petrie Motorsports, dominated the main, leading every lap to the finish. Rounding up the podium were Fred Thomas of Bloomington, and Chicago's Charles Spreitzer. All three riders are enjoying their first year of supermoto racing. The event's most recognized rider, Rich King, long time Grand National Flat Track star, made his supermoto racing debut in Gateway Supermoto's Vet Open class aboard a King Racing KTM. King lapped the entire field in the twenty lap main, save for second place finisher and event organizer Chris Caplinger on his KTM. Caplinger, who has competed in several rounds of the AMA Supermoto Unlimited series, finished ahead of former road racer and current pro supermotard Perry Prichard. Prichard completed the podium on his KTM. The headlining event, the Open Money race, drew thirteen starters and paid out over $500 to the top six finishers. From the green flag, Rich King took the lead, with Bugs Pearson hot on his heels. In the third lap, Bugs made a desperate first corner pass, but couldn't get slowed in time to make the turn into the dirt section. With his rear wheel a foot in the air, Bugs overshot the tight right hander, coming to a stalling halt at the hay bales. The entire field passed him before he got his Honda lit again. Lap after lap, Bugs tore back through the field to claim third place. With his only real challenger down almost a full lap, Rich King sailed to victory. Cole Walsdorf put in a solid ride, staying in second place after Pearson's mistake. Rich's son Aaron was the only other rider to stay on the lead lap, finishing fourth.Gateway Supermoto plans to bring supermoto racing to Springfield Illinois numerous times in 2005.

Kid Galaxy, a company known for its fun, whimsical and remarkably creative radio-controlled toys, expands its most popular lines just in time for Toy Fair 2005. Expertly engineered with unique designs and attractive price points, each of these colorful, imaginative toys provides hours of fun. In addition, there's the bonus of extra entertainment as Kid Galaxy's R-C toys always do something completely unexpected. Even the controllers are cleverly designed to match each individual toy in color and theme.A New Morphibian Enters the Pond ? A Greater GatorJoining the super popular Land Shark and Dirt Frog is the newest Morphibian in the swamp ? the toothsome Gator. With textured skin as green as a lily pad, headlight eyes atop its head and pointy white teeth comprising its grill, the Gator looks as tough and fearsome as the real thing ? only with large tread tires and four-wheel drive. Equally adept in mud, sand or water, this radio-controlled creature-like vehicle can maneuver any terrain and even stay afloat in the bathtub or pool. Created for kids age five and up, the 100% waterproof Gator is fully controllable in the water and will always right itself if it lands off-balance. The full-function remote guides the Gator backward and forward, right and left. (Suggested retail price: $25)GoGos for the Goo Goo SetFor the very youngest enthusiasts of radio-controlled toys, Kid Galaxy introduces two new trucks for children as young as two. The GoGo Auto Fire Truck and the GoGo Auto Tow Truck have been created of soft cast-molded PVC vinyl for maximum fun and safety ? a unique material for R-C toys and an important innovation created by Kid Galaxy. Both trucks are designed with wonderful details and are big and chunky, perfect for little hands. In vibrant red with a white ladder perched on the side and big silver bumpers, the GoGo Auto Fire Truck is a small but mighty truck with a color-coordinated steering wheel remote. The GoGo Auto Tow Truck is bright blue with yellow accents atop big wheels that a-keep on turnin'. Both come with matching two-button controllers that allow for easy maneuvers by a two year old. (Suggested retail price: $20)For ages three and up, the GoGo SUV and the GoGo Pick-up Truck will also be pulling up in time for Toy Fair. In deep purple with enhanced decorations, a happy face and a soft, safe foam body, the GoGo SUV has spin and go action with a two-button radio controller in bright yellow and purple in the shape of a steering wheel. The GoGo Truck is a boxy pick-up, fully loaded with the same great details. It's a stunning green with a matching blue and green steering wheel controller. (Suggested retail price for each: $20)Double the Treasure ? Double the FunIn a daring and innovative move that traverses both land and sky, Kid Galaxy introduces two brand new radio-controlled toys that present two exciting vehicles in one. The Truck & ATV is an ingenious combination of a sturdy red truck and a smaller yellow, all terrain vehicle, both with great, realistic details. The ATV travels comfortably in the back of the truck until a ramp unfolds, enabling it to back off and function all on its own. With just a flip of a toggle switch both vehicles work independently with the full function radio-controller. The Truck and Plane also features a full-function R/C, SUV-style vehicle, but the surprise is the cool Backyard Flyer that's mounted on the truck. Made of durable EPP foam, the plane charges up in just 10 seconds and is guaranteed to fly first time ? every time. Incredibly, with just the easy flip of a toggle, the plane can take to the air directly from the back of the truck. The movements of both vehicles are controlled with the same radio-controller. Kids age eight and up will thrill to the double delights. (Suggested retail price for each: $40)Cuter Than a Bug in a RugTaking Kid Galaxy's recently introduced Buggies to a new level is an adorable addition to the line ? the Buggies Inchworm, a preschooler's best little buggie buddy. With its easy one button control, the beautifully detailed insect in yellow, green and orange hues, with big bug eyes and a sweet face, moves forward, up and down, and spins around, inch by inch, just like its namesake ? only with big tires. The radio-controller is a perfect yellow match in the shape of an antennaed bug head. The clever "lightning bug" controller even lights up when pressed. (Suggested retail price: $20)Driven to Distraction ? KG Racers Rule the RoadWith new improved steering capabilities, KG Racers rule. The mini cars are super fast, cleverly designed, and require no charging, so playtime can commence immediately. The blue and silver ATV is a small but mighty full-function RC vehicle, ready to take to the rug or the road. The Red Cruiser is a throw back to the hot rods of the 1950s, painted in hot red complete with yellow flames on the chassis. The back wheels are bigger than the front, allowing for impressive wheelies action. For all children, kids at heart and proper British nannies, there's the Radio Controlled Pram, a perfect small version of the classic baby carriage. Unlike the real thing however, this Pram has full function radio-control and can do zip, spin and pop wheelies on a whim. What fun! A controller complete with pacifiers as the control toggles adds to the whimsy. For adults and children age five and up. (Suggested retail price for each: $15) Ice is Nice ? But Not RequiredMy First RC Zamboni is a sturdy, blue and white version of the hockey highlight, created for the youngest of ice enthusiasts age three and up. Smoothing the way for fearless hockey heroes or speed-of-light skaters, this is one radio-controlled vehicle with an important job to do. With a chunky blue, two button controller in the shape of a sturdy steering wheel, this Zamboni can sweep, spin and go. (Suggested retail price: $22). The blue and white Standard Zamboni sports the authentic Zamboni Logo making it the absolutely official mini Zamboni, the only R/C Zamboni in the world..It is also a full function RC. (Suggested retail price: $22)Winging It ? Launching the Dream of FlightTwo new high-flying planes from Kid Galaxy bring the wonder of flight to an airstrip near you. With a tip of the helmet to heroes of the 1940s, the WW II Fighter looks like the green and khaki prop planes of the day, with wondrous wings that angled up to the sky. The accompanying charger/launcher matches perfectly. The motorized plane performs like a champ and requires only 10 seconds of charging before it's well on its way ? up, up and away. For fearless fliers age eight and up. (Suggested retail price: $15) The Back Yard Flyer Double Pack provides two great planes, one red and one blue, with one launcher for high-flying variety and value. Just like the WW II Fighter, the Back Yard Flyer is a powered flight plane which charges on its own integrated hand-held, battery-powered launcher. Built to fly within the comfortable confines of an average backyard, it can fly for 30 seconds or longer each and every time. Made of a virtually indestructible, high-strength EPP foam, both planes are ideal for daredevils age eight and up. (Suggested retail price for Double Pack: $20)Major League Sports in MiniatureFor fans of Major League baseball, Hockey and Soccer, Kid Galaxy's new licensed playsets provide the ticket to hours of fun, each with its own special play action. The MLB Playset represents all 30 baseball teams and turns the company's well-known Bendos characters into major league players. With spring-loaded action, the Bendos player swings his bat to hit a baseball outta the park ? or off the dining room table in this case. For ages four and up. The NHL Playset empowers the Bendos players with spring-loaded hockey sticks with which to smack the puck into the goal set (included). All 30 NHL team logos are available. The Major League Soccer Playset provides the Bendos player with a spring loaded foot. With a swift kick, he sends the small soccer ball directly into the goal.
DataCore Software announces an increase in Disaster Recovery Solutions sales in Japan. This year Mother Nature took its toll and severely interrupted companies throughout the country. With multiple typhoons and earthquakes, the dangers of disruptions of services and data loss were at an all time high. The destructive earthquake that rocked Niigata prefecture and a wide area of Japan including Tokyo had a magnitude of over 6.0 and shut down many business and factories for weeks. Disaster Recovery solutions are extremely expensive and difficult to set up ? Japanese companies can no longer afford to delay implementations, therefore demand for low-cost simple solutions has soared. DataCore users and case studies prove that cost-effective disaster recovery is now a reality. More importantly, DataCore customers deploying SANsymphony remote site AIM Mirroring were comfortable in their knowledge that their data was protected.Current high profile customers include Japan's largest Internet service provider IIJ, Sony Computer Entertainment, NEC Soft, and many others. Semiconductor maker Toyo Dempa exemplifies a company enjoying the benefits of DataCore's technology across multiple sites. According to a recent jointly published case study, Toyo Dempa chose to protect their state-of-the-art factory data by replicating it between Niigata and Kyoto, Japan. The Earthquake that struck Niigata brought home the importance of deploying remote site data storage protection. Mr. Daimon of Toyo Dempa System Group stated, "SANsymphony meets the ever changing storage and disaster recovery requirements for the long term ? it is a proven flexible system infrastructure that manages and protects data between our sites."Toyo Dempa protected its critical data by using SANsymphony AIM to affordably replicate data storage in Netware and Windows environments between its secure remote sites. The software provided additional savings by enabling mirroring over the existing Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure without the need for costly data conversion hardware or special leased lines."Recent natural disasters have stressed the need to safeguard data. Plus more and more Japanese corporations are implementing large-scale storage area networks to protect information across remote sites," said Peter Thompson, managing director, Asia Pacific for DataCore. "DataCore's SANsymphony is a proven disaster recovery solution in Japan - it protects critical customer data and won't break their budgets ? put simply, it gets the job done at the right price!"
You are prepared to spend an average of $300 - $500 for new sneakers for you vehicle. It's a maintenance item that is not optional and then the salesperson asks you if you want to purchase the Road Hazard warranty."It's ONLY an additional $10 - $20 for each tire," he or she says. So, you're thinking, "Don't my tires come with a warranty already?"Great question! Most tires come with a warranty which covers workmanship and materials. In other words, the tire maufacterer covers things which are in their control, like defects. They are not interested in warranting the condition of the roads or your inability to hit debris. This is where a Road Hazard warranty can save you money and aggravation. Road Hazard warranties are one of the best values, yet one of the most misunderstood benefits. Let's start off by expalining exactly what is a Road Hazard warranties and how does it save me money? Most Road Hazard warranties are set up to protect you, from paying full price, even if you happen to get a flat or even destroy a tire beyond repair. If you are fortunate enough to have purchased the warranty, you will only pay for the amount of tread that you used prior to the needed replacement. (This is called pro-rated).Here is an example. Let's say your tire is 1/2 way worn at the time of the flat. With tires averaging $100 each, your replacement cost would only be $50.00. Much better than full price, yes? Definitely - great value.Typically, Road Hazard warranties will cover things like nails, glass, metal, stones etc. and almost anything else that could puncture or damage a tire. Some Road Hazrd packages provide a nationwide coverage, which are great for people who are traveling, or vacationing, because you now have peace of mind knowing that you are protected while away from your local area. In addition, many Road Hazard warranties offer other benefits like free rotations and free balancing (check where you purchase your tires for all the details). Regular maintenance is the best way to extend the life of your tire and get as many miles as possible for your investment.Next time you are ready to purchase tires, ask your tire dealer for the road hazard warranty. You'll be glad you did..

Name-brand handbags are must-have accessories every year. Luis Vuitton, Prada and Donna Karan? Always popular. Michelin, Goodyear and Firestone? Aren't they brands of tires? Indeed, but if Peruvian designer Valerie Doehler continues to succeed, we may see her fashion tread handbags made from used rubber tires accompanying models down runways all over the world in 2005.???? The handcrafted bags, exclusively distributed by Lucuma Designs, are created by shearing sheets of rubber off of used tires, creating unique shapes from them and finishing with colorful felt. Doehler sees these handbags like "a recently opened piece of fruit. The rubber is like the skin and the felt is like the pulp. The material is my starting point. I am interested in taking advantage of it fully. In my designs, I look for simple and straight lines. Also, I look for contrasts of materials and textures, synthesized forms, comfort and durability."The handbags are even better for the environment than they are for the wardrobe, and this Earth-friendliness is lovingly woven into the designs. Doehler elaborates "Respect for the Earth drives my designs. I hope my bags will serve as an inspirational example of how we can transform discarded materials into useful works of beauty." Additionally, a home accents line is expected to debut this year, with designing partner Sebastian Bravo's new recycled rubber plant pots, coasters, trivets, baskets and trays. These handbags and recycled accessories from the Lucuma Fashion wholesale collection will debut at the New York International Gift Fair Jan 30th - Feb 3rd 2005 (NY Newest at Pier 94, Booth #47048).
Manifesting - Create Your Own RealityBy (based on text by Richard Mark-Coates)I've experimented with conscious manifesting techniquesfor 13 years now.For 5 years I have taught others the tools that I myselfhave learned in a course called 'Manifesting Results'.Some people come to the course with a preconception thatI'm going to teach them how to manifest. The bad news is that I'm not going to do that. The good news is that you already DO manifest everythingin your life. You always have.Since we all already create our own realities, what we doin the course is slow down the creative process and learnhow this is done, in order to understand the principalsbehind and in so doing adjust things and create somethingdifferent. We create our reality from our Thoughts, Feelings, Choicesand Beliefs.Lets explore each of these:THOUGHTSYour unconscious mind works in the same manner as arefrigerator.A refrigerator cannot tell the truth from a lie, has nosense of humor, always works in present time, alwaysaccepts what comes in and simply agrees and says, "YES".Throughout your life your fridge has been faithfullystoring information.Whenever any of your senses picked up a message that youare a good person or a loveable person, your fridge openedits door, said, "YES" and stored it away.Of course, any time that you picked up that you were a badperson, unworthy or unlovable, your fridge just says,"YES" and stores it away. You therefore have, a lot of stored data, and your self-image as well as your self-esteem are based on thisinformation.Studies show that 80% of all the input we receive as kidsis negative ("don't do this", "that is bad").Remembering that a child is like a sponge and he or shereceives and believes anything that is said to him or her, there's little wonder why we end up in a society of peoplewho's belief systems are made up of "I am not goodenough", "I don't deserve", "I'll fuck it up", etc...So, what to do?How about balancing some of the negative information, withsomething positive? How about utilizing positive affirmations?I know that for many, affirmations work, whilst othersjust get bored with them. There is a way however, to use them with powerful results,as long as we employ the power of our feelings. But before jumping to our feelings, we need to remember afew basics:1. Repeat the thought over and over again. You have spent years filling up your fridge with garbage. Do you really expect that a few days of positive affirmations would balance it out?2. Use present tense. "I will earn a million next year" doesn't work. Tomorrow never comes.3. Use positive terms. "I quit overeating" puts the weight on the overeating. Make it instead: "I eat only what my body needs"FEELINGSIt has been said: "Thoughts create and feelings bringalive."It is as if your thoughts are the plan on paper and yourfeelings bring it into 3-dimensional reality. If you really want something in your life, let yourexcitement be there. Tell the world. You deserve it.Fear is the same energy as excitement. If you lean away from something, you get fear.If you lean towards it, you get excitement. If you stand in front of your mirror every morningwhispering shyly to yourself "I am beautiful, loveable, successful human being" it might take forever until youbelieve it.Instead, sing it loudly to yourself or shout it whiledriving the car (making sure that your windows are closed)CHOICES OR DECISIONSMany people don't manifest what they want, because theyare not willing to choose. They are so scared to make amistake that they never move."What should I be - a doctor or a lawyer?""Shall I marry him/her or shall I not?"Sound familiar? The universe responds to your moves. When you make a choice and move, the universe eitherresponds in "BRAVO" or in "OOPS, TRY AGAIN".But if you don't make a move, you'll never know.Life is pretty much like driving a car. When you're driving you make decisions all the time, youget feedback all the time and you make new decisions basedon that feedback. You go round a curve too fast, the tires scream, oh boy,too fast, slow down...As you drive to work in the morning, you have takenhundreds of risks and made hundreds of decisions, withoutthinking too much about it.This is how powerful the gift of feedback is.We make decisions and then get the response. An interesting fact about feedback is that when we receiveit from others we don't like it. We feel criticized.Life is an adventure. If we had the map already written and memorized, whatwould be the point of taking the journey?BELIEFSYour beliefs determine your reality in much the same wayas your thoughts do.However, their power is bigger as their source comes fromthe past and is well hidden in this fridge we call theunconscious mind. When I began to really look at my beliefs, some of themwere: "men are stupid", "I have to work hard for mymoney", "I'm lazy" and "I can't fly". And, of course, theone that kept all the others in place is: "I believe thatmy beliefs are difficult to change".If I could just change this last one, then I could changethe others quite easily.BUT. There is safety in these beliefs. They are familiar.Am I prepared to lose that safety? Some of these beliefs are, I think, useful. Until I'm sureI can fly, I should avoid jumping off tall buildings.I guess that's useful, but it is also worth examining oncein a while.Anyway, beliefs are important to us.We spend a lot of energy proving them true.Whenever I got overworked and stressed I would turn on theTV, zapping for hours, thus confirming, "I'm lazy".Whenever a man became too close and offered hisfriendship, I always found something wrong with him tokeep him away. Of course, "men are stupid".We can create new, positive beliefs about ourselves.Just reverse the belief you want to change and say it toyourself over and over again, using all your enthusiasmand excitement. Instead of "I'm a failure" use "I'msuccessful", instead of "I'm not good enough" use "I'mgreat".These four topics, Thoughts, Feelings, Choices andBeliefs, are areas where you can really shift your abilityto live life of joyful creativity.Watch your thoughts - keep them positive.Give your feelings space. Feelings are okay. They add flavor to the soup of life.Get used to making choices - take a chance. We all make mistakes and we can all respond to the resultsLook at your beliefs. Are they unquestionable facts?Or might it be useful to shift some of them?.
